As part of the implementation of the “Birtutas Tarbie” program, a press conference “Criminal and administrative responsibility of minors” was held at the Higher College of the Innovative Eurasian University on November 24, 2024. The main goal of the conference is to implement the tasks of educating the legal consciousness of students.
The director of the college, Tashekenova Armangul Umarovna, welcomed the participants and drew attention to the fact that currently the socio-economic background has a clearly negative impact on the youth, including teenage, environment. Many offenses are a consequence of adolescent neglect and lack of proper control in the family.
Guests of the educational institution were employees of law enforcement agencies and the legal profession, representatives of the juvenile police, the Investigation Department, and employees of the judicial system.
Understand the reasons for the growth of the criminal situation among young people, give a legal assessment of this or that situation, answer unexpected questions from students – these are the range of problems
which were decided by the conference participants.
The conference began with a statistical report on child crime and the proposal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan to tighten the punishment of parents for crimes of minor children, informing young people about the harmful effects of new types of synthetic drugs,
the formation of a negative attitude towards psychoactive substances, a clear understanding of the inadmissibility of even a single drug sample.
Participants in the press conference were active: they were interested in procedural issues, issues of liability for evading testimony, for failure to report an impending crime,
on fines to parents for children’s offenses.
At the end of the conference, the college administration and students thanked the guests for their good performances, attention to their questions, and detailed information.
