At InEU College, the ancient national game “Asyk Atu” is gaining popularity

On February 6, as part of the week of physical culture, in a colorfully decorated assembly hall, competitions were held in the Kazakh national game “Asyk Atu.” The game was attended by more than 20 people – students of the groups specializing in Physical Education and Sports FS-124 FS-114, FS-313.

In recent years, the Kazakh national game, the rules of which are passed down from generation to generation, has become widely popular. Each experienced player must have their own sack of asyks or altiks – this is a sheep’s knee bone. Among the entire set of asyks, there must be a large alchik called the “saka” – the trump bone, he played the role of the most important trophy in the game.

Recall the rules of the game. A circle with a diameter of 1.5-2 meters is drawn on the ground, if desired. A line is drawn in the center of the circle, the length of which depends on the number of players and asyks. Each player puts his own asyk on the line. The right of the first shot is played by lot. At a distance of 2-5 meters from the circle, a line is drawn, and from it the players will aim to throw their “saka,” trying to get into the asyks at stake. If the player gets into the asyk on the line, and he will be knocked out of the circle, then the player picks him up and again throws his “saka” into the asyk on the line of the circle. In the event of a miss, the move moves to the next player in order of order. If the asyk remains in the circle, then the next player from the circle line knocks him out of the circle. They play as long as there are asyki on the line.

Excitement and cheerful mood captured not only the participants, but also the audience. The guys who had just come to “cheer” for the athletes became its direct participants.

The awards have found their worthy winners:

1st place – Zhakauov Erasyl, Totieva Nazerke (FS-124);

2nd place – Kyzduan Batyrbek (FS-124), Kucheryavykh Elizaveta (FS-114),

3rd place – Nutetov Daniyar (FS-124), Smyshlyaeva Anna (FS-114).

The winners of the Kazakh People’s Game received diplomas and prizes.

The organizers of the event, physical education teachers Shanashev Orazbay Kamkenovich and Zhumagulov Arman Kabataevich, tried to attract young people to the people’s Kazakh mobile games, to support the revival of interest in the ancient national sports game. This game is simple and accessible – it does not need special halls, and all that is needed is playing bones – asyks and the excitement of wrestling.
