The selection tour of the polylingual Olympiad was held at the Higher College of InEU on April 19.
The purposes of the event are:
– Enhancement of the role of Kazakh, Russian and English languages, its popularisation and increasing interest in learning;
– Formation of polylingual person;
– Identification of students’ communicative competence and their philological culture;
– Creating a favourable environment for expanding the skills of intercultural communication of future specialists.
This intellectual competition was between students in two directions: students of language specialities «Translation studies» , «Primary education» (teachers of Kazakh and English in future), and non-linguistic specialities. In general, 32 people participated in the olympiad, 12 students of them in the first direction, and 20 1st and 2nd year students of different specialties competed for the victory in the second.
Students completed tasks in three languages: Kazakh, Russian and English for two hours. The Olympiad jury checked the works and determined the winners based on the results of the inspection.
Among the representatives of the linguistic specialities, the best adept of languages became Uakhit Zeynep, a student of the PD-320 group. The 3 students with the same results received the 2 place: Mogilnaya Yulia (PD-211 group), Akhmetova Anel (KiL-112 group), Dulatova Adinay (PD-310 group). Sadvokasova Dayana (PD-211 group) took the 3 place.
Among the representatives of the non-linguistic specialities, Khakhlova Maria (P-132 group), showing the best results, took the 1 degree diploma. Abygazina Karina (P-132) is on the 2 pplace. Iztulin Baktiyar also from this group took the 3 place.
We congratulate the winners, thank all participants of the polylingual olympiad, and wish them further successes in learning languages.
Uakhit Zeynep and Khakhlova Maria will become participants of the regional round of the Olympiad, which will be held on May 12 this year. We wish them good luck and hope to win!
