On January 19, Kostyuk V.V., a psychologist at the InEU Higher College, held a ZOOM conference with first and second year students on the topic “What to do in a difficult situation?” A conference was held in the form of a practical lesson. Students, together with a psychologist, studied and repeated psychological exercises to relieve stress. They were offered various breathing techniques, methods for relaxing muscles in a state of tension, as well as a technique for relieving panic in a stressful situation “Butterfly.” The butterfly method is an alternating “right-left” stimulation: a person rhythmically taps or taps himself on the shoulders, knees or hips – crossed arms. The left hand pats the right side, and the right hand, on the contrary, the left. This self-conscious exercise regulates the state of stress, such as helping to eliminate feelings of helplessness before and during a difficult conversation. At the end of the conference, the children were given the number of a teacher – a psychologist and a helpline number, so that there was always an opportunity to get the necessary psychological support.
