The ninth of December is the International Day against Corruption.

On the eve of the International Anti-Corruption Day, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service and Anti-Corruption Affairs and the First President’s Fund held an international round table on 08.12.2020, dedicated to the activities of various organizations in this direction.

 International Day Against Corruption is celebrated annually on December 9, according to the UN Convention.

 Since the first days of its independence, Kazakhstan has been waging an uncompromising fight against corruption and is ready for constructive interaction on the anti-corruption front with all states and relevant international organizations.

     The round table was attended by: the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Anti-Corruption Department, the UN and OSCE representatives in Kazakhstan, the volunteer fund and representatives of foreign countries: Germany, Pakestan, Palestine, France, etc.

 Welcoming words were delivered by: Aide to the President A. Asikeshev, Manager of the Astana Center N. Khamitov, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament K. Musin.

    A consistent conversation took place about measures to combat this destructive phenomenon, about the need to increase the anti-corruption culture of the population, adherence to the norms of official ethics, as well as the prevention and prevention of corruption. The forum participants noted that in order to achieve positive results, it is necessary to abandon high-flown words and pretentious speeches, and conduct a purposeful

 field work. Representatives of the PRC, Greece, Uzbekistan, and the USA shared their experience in fighting corruption.

 No country, no region, no society is immune from corruption.

 According to the UN, the annual volume of bribes is estimated at one trillion dollars. The global economy loses another $ 2.6 trillion due to corruption. These funds account for over five percent of global GDP.

 Public organizations, educational institutions, government officials, law enforcement agencies and, in general, all concerned citizens are a powerful tool in countering the corrupt actions of the bureaucracy.

 The round table ended with the adoption of proposals and anti-corruption measures.
